Rotary evaporator operating steps

The rotary evaporator is a relatively common evaporation instrument in the laboratory, which is mainly used for the continuous distillation of some volatile solvents under reduced pressure conditions. It is often used in biomedical, chemical and other industries. In order to prevent damage to the instrument, be sure to strictly follow the instructions in the product manual when using it.

Basic operating steps of rotary vacuum evaporator:

1. First, you need to prepare the main machine, vacuum pump and cooling water of the rotary evaporator.

2. Turn on the circulating cooling water and use the low-temperature cooling circulation device to adjust the required temperature and increase the cooling effect.

3. Turn on the switch of the instrument and add materials into the rotating flask.

4. Adjust the height of the host. Generally, keep the liquid level of the bath pot higher than or parallel to the liquid level of the rotating flask, and then turn on the heating and rotating switches to adjust to the desired temperature and speed.

5. Close the bleed valve and feeding valve, and open the vacuum valve to start the vacuum distillation operation.

6. At the end, turn off the motor first and then vent the atmosphere to prevent the distillation flask from falling off during rotation.
