Method to check whether the vacuum rotary evaporator is leaking: pinch off the external vacuum hose, observe the vacuum gauge on the instrument, and see if it can maintain no leakage for five minutes. If there is leakage, check whether the sealing joints and the sealing rings on the rotating shaft are effective. On the contrary, if the instrument is normal, check the vacuum pump and vacuum pipeline.
If the vacuum cannot be drawn, please check:
1. Whether the joints and interfaces are sealed.
2. Whether the sealing ring and sealing surface are effective.
3. Whether the vacuum grease between the main shaft and the sealing ring is well applied.
4. Whether the vacuum pump and its hose are leaking.
5. Whether the glass parts are cracked, broken, or damaged.
Besides the evaporator, the entire laboratory rotary evaporator system is generally equipped with a low-temperature coolant circulation pump and a circulating water vacuum pump. During use, when the rotary evaporator stops evaporating, the heating should be stopped first, then the vacuum pumping should be stopped, and finally the power should be cut off to stop the rotation.
