Rotary Evaporator—How to Set Up a Low-Temperature Cooling Circulator?

The efficient operation of a rotary evaporator relies on precise matching with an ultra-low temperature cooling circulator in both laboratory and industrial production. Selecting the right model not only ensures experimental stability but also enhances efficiency and safety.

For vacuum rotary evaporator, the matching key points : condensation efficiency and temperature control accuracy. The selection needs to be based on actual technology and balance refrigeration capacity, temperature control accuracy, safety and cost.

1. Temperature difference driven condensation: The temperature of the refrigeration circulator needs to be 15~25°C lower than the boiling point of the solvent to ensure sufficient temperature difference to improve the condensation efficiency and prevent the solvent from escaping and contaminating the vacuum pump.

2. Matching of refrigeration capacity and evaporation capacity: Determine the refrigeration demand based on the capacity of the evaporation bottle and the nature of the solvent. Large-capacity rotary evaporation requires higher refrigeration capacity, while ensuring that the circulation flow evenly covers the condenser to avoid failure of the upper and lower temperature differences.

3. Vacuum linkage control: The low temperature and vacuum system work together stably to avoid pressure fluctuations affecting the condensation effect.
