Tips for cleaning rotary evaporator

Rotary evaporators are widely used in various tests. After the experiment is done with a rotary evaporator, some dirt will easily remain on the condenser, collecting bottle and evaporating bottle. These dust and dirt will not only affect the performance of the instrument and shorten its service life, but more seriously will directly affect the experimental results.

How to clean these dirt and dust?

1. A small amount of continuous drainage device can be used to control the concentration multiple of the condenser of laboratory rotary evaporator within a certain range, which can effectively prevent the precipitation of scale and save a lot of effort for the later cleaning of the rotary evaporator;

2. The surface evaporation temperature of the rotary evaporator should be below 40 degrees, and a large amount of water should be used at the same time, so that the surface of the condenser tube is always covered with a water film without dry spots;

3. When producing the rotary evaporator, pre-filming anti-scaling treatment can be performed, that is, a protective film is formed on its surface by pre-filming, which can effectively prevent dirt crystals from adhering to its surface.

Vacuum rotary evaporator is mainly used in the pretreatment of food, environment and other samples. Its main function is to concentrate and convert solvents. The instrument will be more or less stained with dust during use or storage, so the maintenance of the  instrument should focus on dust and pollution prevention. Regular dust removal and cleaning are important links.
